Learn more about the legacy of Columbus’ own Mother of the Blues, Ma Rainey, from the Gertrude “Ma” Rainey House and Blues Museum. This Program will also provide a walking tour of her home.
You’re invited to “Sing the Blues of Columbus!”
Compose an original blues song about Columbus. Songs should have at least two verses of original lyrics; music accompaniment is optional. Song performances occur after the house tour. VISA Gift Cards are awarded for the top 2 songs!

The Mildred L. Terry Library has been serving customers near the heart of the city of Columbus since 1952. Named for its former branch manager, the Library was founded as the segregated “Colored” library for the area. In its 60+ year history it has grown to serve the needs of all area residents as a community center, a location for research and a place for outstanding family programs. Three rooms of various sizes are available to be booked by the public
