A tag team of academic superstars from Columbus State University join forces to discuss how the graphic novel has become a prominent tool for expression by some of our country's artists and writers.
Professor of Art Orion Wertz and Professor of Writing and Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians Director Nick Norwood will use our NEA Big Read: Columbus selection The Best We Could Do: An Illustrated Memoir by Thi Bui to highlight the interplay of visual and literary techniques and how they combine to create an immersive and emotive experience for the reader.
The NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, in partnership with Arts Midwest.
NEA Big Read: Columbus is presented by the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries and the Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians at Columbus State University. Additional support is provided by the Muscogee County Library Foundation.
