This event is part of the Chattahoochee Valley's NEA Big Read Celebration of U.S. Poet Laureate JOY HARJO and her timeless poetry collection How We Became Human.

The Celebration of the work of JOY HARJO is produced in partnership with the Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians at Columbus State University and is sponsored by the Muscogee County Friends of Libraries. Additional media sponsors include iHeartRadio and WRBL News 3.
TEMPORARY LOCATION:
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1973 Torch Hill Road
The South Columbus Public Library is undergoing extensive renovation and expansion, with an expected re-opening in spring 2024. Full library services are available at the temporary location just two blocks north at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1973 Torch Hill Road.
The South Columbus Public Library is conveniently located near the entrance of Ft. Benning and up the road from area attractions such as the National Infantry Museum, Oxbow Meadows, and Historic Westville. The branch has one meeting room space that seats 45 people and includes a flat-screen TV with HDMI cable, a podium, and white board. Laptops are available for checkout with a photo I.D. and valid library card. Groups booking the meeting room can configure the room setup on a self-service basis.
